Founded in 1990, Imperium began as a strategic technology development firm, specializing in the design and development of database-backed Web sites, corporate Intranet applications, and enterprise desktop applications. Imperium built large-scale database systems for Fortune 500 companies such as Altria (Philip Morris), Dun & Bradstreet, GE, Philips, Bank of America (Fleet Bank), and Pitney Bowes.
Imperium later added SaaS services which included the development of an array of successful online market research technologies.
In 2001 Imperium was contracted by an international market research company to provide a category review and analysis of the usability products then available in the market. Results of the analysis showed significant potential for a server-side product with an open business model which offers both full service and do-it-yourself usage.
Dialogue with Imperium’s research industry clients confirmed the potential value of improved web usability research tools to the expanding universe of internet-based businesses. After a year of product research and development, the first version of RelevantView was released in January 2002. RelevantView’s proprietary, high-powered, server-based tracking technology, ActiveSandbox® captures users’ online experience on websites and web applications.
In 2008, Imperium introduced another product, RelevantID – a digital fingerprinting technology that goes above and beyond cookies to create a sophisticated, next-generation approach to assuring and certifying data quality. RelevantID capabilities include digital fingerprinting, geo location verification and data validation.
In 2010, Verity was introduced to the market. Verity is a data validation service that confirms the accuracy of a person’s name, address and other demographics against well known databases that specialize in validating consumer demographics.
