M2 requests individual web-users to download and install a Java applet, which in many cases appears when a user attempts to log on to their account asking if they wish to "register this computer."

The M2 applet accesses fields of information that are 100% unique to a machine’s CPU and hard-drive and do not change over-time. These fields are validated upon each future log in. Users that fail to download the applet can be provided with a different user experience, or restricted from specific on-site activities.
